here goes nothing

The past six years of my life have been one giant roller coaster. They started with reconnecting with an old friend which quickly led to a three-month dating relationship, which then quickly led to a three-month engagement, which finally found us happily hitched! Once on the journey of adjusting to married life we shockingly found out we were expecting our first baby only seven months after our wedding day. Our son was born two months early which has had a profound impact on his development. We've journeyed along the path of raising a child with special needs for nearly five years now, had another baby somewhere in between, and are now about to add a third child to our rapidly growing family. Three kids in six years of marriage will make anyone's head spin but at the end of the day we wouldn't trade it for anything.

Along this roller coaster ride I have discovered a deep love and passion for photography. Not only do I love to look back at pictures of when our children were smaller, or of when my body resembled more of an actual shape than just a blob, but I love the challenge of learning how to take better pictures. I'm enthralled with how a camera is able to give a photo an entirely different look by just the changing of a setting. I mostly learn with practice and a guess-and-check method, but I've also dabbled in attending lectures and sessions with accomplished photographers. I hope to add many more of those to my resume along with countless photos that will last a lifetime.

I'm using this new blog as an outlet to share my love for photography and to also let you in on my journey to learning.

Enjoy!
